Feb 6, 2024 · They (especially Alexander who, sadly for us, had gone to Carnival for more $$) always had a bar full of cruisers having a great time. On the Epic, the bartender (at the main lounge) was very reserved. People rarely stayed to chat. The bars by the pool and in posh changed a lot and were very hit-or-miss.

Stateroom was larger than a 'balcony', as advertised, & the additional space was welcome. The Encore is a far more 'modern" ship than the Epic. If you are looking for quiet spot's to read then I would certainly pick the Encore for the Waterfront on deck 8 for outdoor couches and chairs and the Observation lounge on deck 15 for indoor relaxation. Both are great and neither exist on the Epic.

For noise: If you book deck 16, you will likely have the buffet below you, on deck 17 you will likely have public sundeck above you. For convenience: Deck 16 is closer to the the Haven pool, deck 17 is closer to Posh. It's generally a tossup.

She has other ammenities such as the boardwalk and aqua park instead of cabins facing the wake. I loved Epic's totally private aft facing balcony cabin.The breakaway is newer and has better facilities. The Epic sells around 10 Posh passes first come first serve. You would need to be the very first person to board after priority boarders (frequent cruisers) and walk fast (not run) to Guest Services. The Breakaway sells 80 passes (for the 4500 passengers).
