I like the 300 grain jacketed hollow points for hunting. These have some punch reloaded with Hodgdon 322 powder. My favorite plinking loads are also 300 grain, but in lead format with IMR Trailboss. Your rifle was produced well before that date and anyone who is truly interested in Marlin firearms, knows this. The stamp is likely under the edge of the hand guard. So naturally I want to take a look at them...I look at the markings on the barrel, one is "SC", one is "A", now, I've looked around abit but other than seeing that "yea, they are Marlin models" of the 336, what is the real difference?

Rifles are no different. I have a Marlin 444, JM stamped that probably never saw 100 rounds fired through it. The action is tight, and sometimes jams during cycling. I attribute this to the fact that the tolerances are just tight. Need to work the action more, but ammo is expensive.
