It wouldn't hurt to make two full passes to achieve your final torque. I wouldn't use silicone on the pan gasket, but that's just me. Some might recommend it.

IF your converter clutch is bouncing in & out of lock up under light throttle application..... I would suspect a bad vacuum meter valve.
