Day Birerre Day is a Haitian born, Brooklyn based multimedia artist. Her works draw inspiration from self-taught Haitian folk artists, 60s pop art and DIY culture. Using bold saturated colors and a heavily textured process, the artist explores the joys and grief of black womanhood, the queering of playfulness and the pressure to assimilate into American culture. BKLYN CLAY is a modern ceramics studio for potters, artists, production clayworkers, and hobbyists, with the first community Gas Kiln in Brooklyn. We are located in the S.Slope/Greenwood Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. The Winter semester is 12 weeks long (you come to the same class each week) and costs $725 for the entire semester.
