I think the problem would be with cold inmunes. The Orb damage is pretty underwhelming. Also, the Frenzy merc has AR problems and the proc on Voice of Reason is on hit, so it won't go off nearly as much as Rift. If you really want a Frenzy merc then Lawbringer would synergize with your werewolf much better.

This way you get a merc with a 34 Might aura / 100%+ Crushing Blow / Can't Be Frozen & more. If you want more info i suggest you follow post 2. Act 2 Merc's have different abilities depending on difficulty. Take a act 2 defensive merc if you a caster for holy freeze. Holy freeze provides the chill effect, which is not the same as the slow effect given by cold damage. Hence why cold immunes will be chilled by holy freeze. Take an Act 2 offensive merc if you are melee or do physical damage.Act 1 mercenaries are therefore great if you want to add physical damage to your build. They also allow you to bring specific auras for certain builds on Diablo 2 Resurrected! They are therefore not to be underestimated, even while waiting for the patch! The reason that Headstriker is #1 is because of the unique damage calculation used for Act 5 Merc's using one handed weapons. This calculation hugely favors the +max damage and +min damage modifiers. I don't think act 5 merc is even worth using over act2 mercs because of the Auras and polearm provide too much utility over act 5 mercs. I would try to get a Reaper's Toll. It casts Decrepify, which is going to be huge, and it has 11% life leach. check out dbrunski's video on act 5 merc. He includes A2 Infinity and A2 Ethereal Reaper's toll merc and both are absolutely demolished by the A5 Merc's DPS. I dont think Dbrunski is an authority on anything in the world, but his video results suggest: 1) A5 Merc DPS > A2 Merc DPS. 2) A2 Merc utility (Insight, Infinity) > A5 Merc utility.
