New Serial Number Structure for DW as of 2013. I just purchased a Dan Wesson Specialist that was manufactured in June of this year. There is a new serial number structure for all DW firearms. The serial number is now a seven (7) digit number. "yynnnnn". The first two (2) digits are the year of manufacture. This year they are "13".

With the case, your gun's value would probably be in the $5-600 range, without the case, it could be about $100 less.
