In my opinion, yes. Obtaining and getting through GI residency is not a cake walk, and attending share call which can often involve emergent procedures such as food impactions, emergent ERCP. I think heme onc offers a better lifestyle. But at the end of the day, you have to enjoy the subject matter to remain happy as an attending for decades.
