In my opinion, its the gauldur amulet, it helps with health,magicka and stamina which all three are used in builds in skyrim,and its not super hard to get it just takes a little time but totally worth it in early game.One thing you haven't mentioned is whether you have actually moved to the end of the chamber to use the mechanism that will reforge the amulet. The ghost does not appear until you do so and the amulet will not be reforged. Just defeating the brothers does not initiate the action, you have to be in a certain spot and attempting to reforge it.
