Is the moonveil katana still good.
The posture damage is reduced (seems about the level of Unsheathe now, which is still very good) and the recovery on the R2 version of the weapon art is longer, but not punishingly so. Update: Comparing to Unsheathe, I don't really notice much or any difference in the recovery time, so the slower recovery thing might be a red herring.

You can go for more status effects by putting a cold katana in your left hand and still use the weapon art of the moonveil. The L1 power stancing will build bleed faster and having the cold will help. ... Overall enemies will get harder even with a good weapon, but Moonveil is still good since it maintains its strength. moonveil just seems better. the moves come out quick and it's just as strong, if not stronger. unfortunate, because i just got the darkmoon greatsword and love the way it looks. was thinking about respeccing for it, but i can wield it two-handed without the repsec. still might play around with it more or use it for bosses weak to frost.
Go like a keen (I believe that’s the right one) should scale with int/dex. Moonveil🤮. Naga - lower damage, longer range. Uchi - higher damage, lower range. For powerstance, the way the katana combo works doesn't give you a ton of benefit from the nagas extra length.
I am katana lover and I basically finished all souls games with katanas. Nagakiba has great damage, nice moveset and oh my god the reach on R2 wow. I enchanted mine with occult and Bloodhound Step and basically no other weapon was better. Uchigatana with similar stats will do way more damage, and 1 shot kill with unsheathe. If you can roll through the laser, it's pretty punishable. It also costs a good bit to keep firing off in pve. It allows you to set the frostbite status effect and it has bleed build up just like the moonveil katana. Those are fairly normal for a high-tier weapon, and there’s good scaling off both INT and DEX. Obviously in pvp it’s still alive and well. Maybe at the higher end it’s better in pve but so far at lower levels it’s underwhelming. I can’t even use it to level anymore. It doesn’t even stagger regular gate front knights. That was part of what made moonveil so good. Now it just feels like a regular katana with a blue ranged attack.Moonveil is busted to the point of trivializing half of the game, if that sounds fun to you then go for it, otherwise you can infuse uchi with the blood slash ash and put points into arcane for a very strong almost game breaking bleed build.
