My husband H1B was approved back in Mar 2021. And my H4 & EAD extensions were filed on Mar 11. I tried expediting my EAD ext req in July. They denied it saying the pre-req of H4 ext approval was not complete. But, my H4 ext case status now shows "On July 14, 2021, we received your request for expedited processing on your Form I-539".
