Personally, I'd probably build a melee focused ranger. Dueling fighting style for damage, spells such as Zephyr Strike and Ensnaring Strike, and at level 4 get Elven Accuracy. With Zephyr and Ensnaring Strike you can easily proc Elven Accuracy so you can effectively crit fish. Currently a level 8 horizon walker.
