It has also been said that a T1 algae grower works better because its spread is smaller. At a stage in the game you won't need much algae anyway which is why I've just disassembled this setup.

Normally, you cant deconstruct when inside the room there is something more, like storage or machines, etc… try to completly empty the room and then deconstruct it.
