Definitely, there is very little progression in SIG, and that huge salary/talent difference means you are going to be glorified tech support to the traders. On the other hand, you can quite easily jump to other tech companies from amazon/msft. The work in SIG will be quite different, and I am not sure if they make you sign non competes.
