So, there are 2 types of unisom- one is the active ingredient in benedryl and the other is unisom specific. If benedryl/diphenhydramine, then 50mg is totally fine. If it's the unisom specific first gen antihistamine, 25mg is more commonly prescribed but there's no evidence that more is harmful.
