The Springfield XD is a remarkably boxy-looking firearm. It rivals Glock in that aspect. I don't find it that appealing. The slide is a little bit too tall for my taste. Overall the pistol just looks a little fat. The rear and front grips are alright, but there's minimal grip on the sides. The 19 holds more rounds. I've had the Springfield XD sub 9mm, a Glock 26 and 19. The biggest problem with the 26 is the lack of said a rail (why that's the case is beyond me; it would easily fit), which the XD has. As an owner of a Glock 19 and M&P9 I say get the H&K P30. After shooting one a couple weeks ago they are MUCH better (my opinion) all around than the others. I've never held a pistol that fits nicer in my hand (even my Les Baer). What a sweet, soft shooting pistol. Wow. I will be selling the Glock to buy one this fall.
