Gmt 400 ls swap.
I used this truck as a daily driver for a year and a half and I fell in love with the truck as some people do. But now the truck sits in my driveway because of a few problems like Brakes, Transmission, Engine. I have done some research and decided to swap the old 4.3 for ls style truck motor. and I would like some info on doing the swap.

Going 6L look for a k2500 in the yards that was hooked to a 6.0 for the nv4500. For an LQ9 I think you are looking for Escalade or Denali donars.

I'm still figuring out how to get my speedometer to work.I think the only year of the TH400 was the 1988 or 1988-1989 models. Your 1992 has a 700R4. I have no idea on what all is needed though. The 5.3L is an OBD-II engine, and if you can find a 4L60E that was originally paired to a 5.3L, if you swap over the computer and wiring harness, it might be a "bolt on" swap, since you are putting in a "matching" powertrain, and using the correct computer ... For 400 RWHP, your best bet is always displacement or forced air. I would start with a 6.0 (LQ4 or LQ9).

I think transplanting into a regular GMT400 (non-3500HD) you'd have a hard time shoehorning an Allison in there unless you did trans tunnel surgery or had a body lift.
